MobileNXT - Mobile Retailer

Romy Juneja’s MobileNXT wants to setup country’s first chain of mobile retail stores offering mobile products. Mobile NXT is targetting all tier-2 and tier-3 cities in India as Romy believes they are underserved. MobileNXT expects to achieve a turnover of Rs350 crores within the next 3 years and is backed by consortium of investors with $5 Million in investments. Certainly not a hi-tech startup but still a cool idea :-)

Indian Web Properties are getting hotter.

Its just not that real estate in Bangalore or Gurgaon or the Mumbai stock exchange SENSEX touching new highs, but the Indian Internet properties are also getting hotter. India had approximately 40 Million Internet subscribers at the end of 2005, witnessing a growth of 54% YoY.

Business 2.0 reported that good domains and domains that are misspellings of great Internet brands have a very high value. IndiaForum.com is one such domain which resembles a great and a popular discussion portal for Indians, India-Forums.com . Vijay Bhatter founded India-Forums.com and has 36 Million pages views/month. Its Alexa ranking is 3294. IndiaForum.com a domain smiliar to India-Forums.com, was auctioned off last afternoon by Snapnames, which fetched a cool $4350(Indian Rupees 1,97,500). The buyer is Michael from Bethesda, Maryland. Considering SantaBanta.com’s move for a $13 Million IPO, which has Alexa ranking of 2181 and 40 Million page views/month, and falls in the same rank and file as that of India-Forums.com, Michael might have jut gota steal for his money.
